The plastics industry is one of the most innovative segments of the world economy and plastics are seen as the material of the 21st century.
The K 2007 has been the highlight of a very successful exhibition for SCANTECH, presenting its latest contact-free on-line measurement solutions and introducing its newest generation of gauging systems in partnership with PROTAGON. This partnership has formed between two companies with extensive sensor experience, providing the most appropriate and fully integrated sensor solutions, and synergistic research and development program is going to improve and advance the STATE OF THE ART in sensor technology.
The 21st International Exhibition on Plastics and Rubber Industries, known as Chinaplas 2007, was held from May 21 to May 24, 2007 at China Import & Export Fair Pazhou Complex, Guangzhou, P.R China.
The buyers from over 110 countries and regions visited the show. Guangzhou SCANTECH Electronic Measuring Equipment Co. Ltd, a fully owned subsidiary of SCANTECH (France), was founded in 2006. They have recently moved into their new offices in the Science City of Guangzhou. In order to accompany the growing activities of SCANTECH onto the Asian market, and to provide our Asian customers with the full range of proximity technical services, there is also a fully equipped workshop.
We manufacture and sell on-line measurement equipment for quality monitoring and automatic control of most flat web production processes (biax film, cast film, sheet, non-woven, paper...).
SCANTECH's primary field of endeavor is providing innovative solutions in the areas of weight & thickness gauges and control systems through an innovative engineering approach, based on modularity and simplified assembly.
Highly accurate thickness gauging is very necessary for the production of high performance plastic film and sheet. Marubeni, an agent of SCATECH, has installed a SCANTECH laboratory machine at Clesen in Atsugi, Kanagawa and is currently conducting tests. 'Convertech' interviewed Mr. Kondo from Marubeni and Mr. Louis Darlet from SCANTECH about the machine characteristics and market share in Japan.
Quotes from the interview:
The thin film for the optical use purpose and multi-layer coating are increased in Japanese market, and especially each layer thickness measurement is much in demand. It is technically possible, so we would like to consider how we supply it.
SCANTEH has IR and CCD laser technology besides X-ray. They can also offer to install two different scanning head into on scanner. For example, the combination scanning head of X-ray, which measures mass or thickness, and IR, which measures water or humidity.
